The penultimate day of the holidays before trials begin
...is when I actually start studying properly and being productive for most of the day as opposed to spending it procrastinating, or sitting around trying to do work and just complaining instead...yep. I did sleep in for a bit, however the rest of the day was spent reading roughly half of the USA textbook which is actually pretty awesome, just as a certain Xerxes promised.
^ That's such an interesting paragraph, ffff.
Anyone heard Avril's song "Smile"?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqCj9a_DSBc
Lyrics-wise, I only like the chorus. Everything else pisses me off because it sounds bratty and spoilt in a non-good way (man I'm such an excellent critic, look at that shining example of eloquence right there). When I first heard the song, I was just like '...' at the first verse.
HOWEVER. The chorus is nice. I like it. Not amazing words, but they're cute/nice.
Sound-wise ... I pretty much like the whole song, hahahahhaa. IT SOUNDS GOOD! ...To me. And that is why I on the whole really like this song and have been somewhat addicted to it for the past couple of days, despite the kinda brainless "rargh i'm a crazy bitch whatever" lyrics.
And despite the fact that the bridge is just a recycling of the first verse. Which... I don't know. Not a bad thing per se but I just don't like the first verse. The second verse is a bit more bearable, and it's kind of funny. ...It just wouldn't be funny if it actually happened, waking up with a random tattoo...

Did I mention I like Tokio Hotel
You know those lists of nice/simple/awesome things like "snuggling up with a book and hot chocolate on a cold winter's day" and "winning arguments" and stuff like that (they seem to turn up on Tumblr a bit), I'd like to add my own contribution to that, a realisation I've re-realised a minute or two ago while watching YT lyric vids of Tokio Hotel songs:
When you get obsessed with songs in your non-native language that you can't understand much of at all and then some time later when you have gained more language proficiency and suddenly it's like OMG HEY I CAN UNDERSTAND THIS NOW FAHAHAHAHHAHA
tl;dr - understanding songs that aren't in your native language / a language in which you're fluent

Hallo, Panik (:
1. My Tokio Hotel obsession has waned somewhat
2. I'm developed a dodgy penchant for songs in non-German/English, e.g. Italian, i.e. subjects I don't study, and this is proving a bit distracting/procrastination-fuelling
3. I do 3 units of German!
And so I've decided it's time for me to get obsessed with another German band/musician. Likely contender atm seems to be PANIK, a German rock/nu metal band which... sounds kiiiiiiinda like Linkin Park used to sound. Haha. I've fallen for a few of their songs so far, one of them being one that is called "Lass Mich Fallen" hahah. You know, I never really thought of reading that German word as English "fallen", funnily enough. Realised that just then. Yeah okay I'm shutting up now.
I'M NOT. LIES.

lalalalalala typicalteen+music=this
I kind of love finding songs that have lyrics that you really really relate to
As in "hahahah yep just fall right into my psychocardiac convolutions and make yourself at home, you know everyone and everything here"
PSYCHOCARDIAC
When I first used that word (consciously), I made it up, but I think that actually is a real medical term.

a thousand meteoric minutes to theoretically hybridised solar midnight--
Last night I went to a Linkin Park concert and it was fucking AMAZINGGGGG <3333
1. I went with Fio and Em and we were in the silver reserved seating area which was in the section furthest away from the stage but I didn't mind because it meant we weren't pressed by people on all sides like the guys in the mosh pit (though the front row guys there would've had the most awesome view) so it was quite comfortable, and because we could sit down.
2. But the seat thing was whatever because for the actual Linkin Park concert (i.e. excluding the breaks and stage changing and the support act) I think I spent almost half the time on my feet, screaming/cheering and singing/yelling along with everyone around me :'D
3. Every time an 'old' song (i.e. from their first three albums, before A Thousand Suns) came on, everyone pretty much jumped up and cheered, especially the ones with really distinctive openings, e.g. Numb, In The End. And people sang along to those. Not so much singing along to the ATS songs though.
4. That said, during 'The Messenger', at the end, the "ohh-oh-oh" kind of part... Chester stopped singing partway through and instead it was just the whole audience singing the very last part together and it was like nawwww BELONGING AHAHAHAHHA. But yeah seriously, that was really nice. Did I mention that 'The Messenger' is a really sweet song? It was acoustic too and it was so nice. And while we all sang along to the old songs, for this one, which was both new AND a quiet song, everyone shut up. Except for the last part, heheh. LISTEN TO THE SONG (: [ link ]
5. By the time the concert was over I actually could not talk properly for 10 mins or so, my voice had changed notably in pitch and hoarseness, what with all the scream-cheering I did hahahah - I wondered if I annoyed anoyone there... seeing as I'm not physically able to cheer/scream in a roar like guys, I resorted to shrieking instead. HAHAHAH. Yeah I'm a fangirl etc. etc.
6. I definitely didn't expect to enjoy myself as much as I did, partly because I didn't really know how good Linkin Park were live, and also because I didn't really like any of the ATS songs prior to the concert... and because my LP obsession had just waned significantly since its 07-08 zenith. Needless to say, however, I did enjoy myself very very very much (:
So yes it was WORTH EVERY SINGLE CENT <3

Try to catch up--
So this is how it goes with Linkin Park songs: usually I listen to them once and it's like "mehhhh" / "it's okay / "it's not bad..." It usually takes a while before they grow on me. And then I launches into obsessive love for them.
So it has happened with almost all their previous songs I listend to and so I hope will be the case for the A Thousand Suns songs (Y)
...I don't even like any of the ATS songs HAHAHA. Though I won't be surprised if after 5 listens or so that situation does an about turn... hopefully.

My heart would explode from the euphoria
